This was my first design of the CD for my artist's digipak. I left it incomplete because I thought the choice of colour made the digipak as whole look very dark and monotonous.
I decided to research into what information a CD involved on it. I used a Franz Ferdinand album, as the band is signed to the same record label as my artist, which would create continuity in how and what information is printed onto the CD. I took these institutional conventions and then aimed to involve them in my next CD design.
This is my second and final draft of my CD design. I think this is the better product as it compliments the digipak very well. The photos illustrated in the digipak are all black and white and appear quite dark, so this contrast in light allows the CD to stand out and become the main focus of the product. The included institutional information makes the product as a whole look more realistic and genuine.
