Styles of Digipaks
The 2 images above are the common styles in which a digipak is normally made and stylised. This is because the contents inside is strongly protected from damage due to the plastic casing used.
Above are alternative designs that i found of a digipak. I really like these designs as they are simple yet still effective.

There are many layouts and designs to a digipak as shown above. This has helped me form a decision on how I will go about designing and creating my own digipak for my artist. I think I will use the first style that I came across, that uses the plastic casing to hold the CD securely in place. Although I was really intrigued by the other style I think the use of the plastic casing is a more professional approach on how to promote a new and upcoming artist. I want my audience to be attracted to the cover and casing immediately and I feel that this style will do just that. The card design is effective but it is not as attractive and appealing of the other style and personally I feel that it would be used for an artist that has been around for a few years and so they do not have to be too concerned about what style they use as people already know of them and so do not have to try as hard to get noticed.
Moving forwards onto the type of layout i will use for my digipak, I have decided to use Design. 2. My decision on choosing Design.2 is because it's the one that looks the most appealing to me. It's appeal comes from the CD casing being the centre attribute once you open the Digipak. This will enable my audience to see the first thing i want them once they open it. Everything else surrounding the CD is secondary to the main product which is the CD record.
